Mobile Tax question

Daughter is working full time whilst on holiday from uni. She’s home for the summer but also has a term time job which she isn’t doing at the moment.

Because of this, she’s being charged tax as if this current work is a second job.

Is there anyway for her not to have to do this or would she have to fully leave the student job first?

She ended up paying £50 tax this week on about £240 wages

When my son had a 2nd job he phoned the tax office and they split his tax code between the 2 jobs. Your daughter could do this so her 2nd job isn't taxed at basic rate.

As above get your daughter to split tax code. This can be done either 50/50 or she can state a figure for each one. If she does this then once sorted she will get her tax back in the next applicable wages

We have staff that get taxed high for 2nd jobs etc, it can be sorted but quite a few use it as a savings plan knowing they will get it back!

Tell her to phone HMRC and ask them to split her non-taxable income between the two jobs. Her employers will both receive a new tax code for her and she should get a rebate wth any tax she has already paid (providing her total income would remain under the threshold).
Important to know a rough figure of what she will be earning per annum at each job as this is how they will produce her tax codes. Eg - personal allowance is earnings up to £11850, so £6500 at one job and £5350 at the other.
