Do I collect bags?

Hi, we are flying Air Canada via Toronto to MCO next week and wondering if I have to collect our bags in Toronto?

we have done Ireland now for the last 3 years so have pre-cleared

Yes you do - you clear US immigration in Toronto so have to recheck your bags.

when we went a couple of years ago , we went to the immigration desk and they showed us a picture of our bags and asked us if they were ours.
We then were processed by US immigration and just carried on to the transfer hall to our next flight .
This was Air Canada LHR-YYZ-MCO.
I think it was 2014.

I didn't realise we cleared US immigration? Do we arrive as domestic passengers then?

No, What Snowbelle says is true - you identify your bag on a screen and clear US immigration in Toronto arriving at MCO as a domestic passenger. You do need a Canadian ETA though
