Same here. Through in 15 minutes and on other occasions about an hour. Never had had a stupidly long wait.

1) You have to get off the plane,
2) get to the hall,
3) get cleared (in at least a q of 300),
4) get luggage,
5) dump luggage (or take it with you),
6) get on a train,
7) get off train,
8) get luggage,
9) transport luggage (or use porter)

then

10) get to car hire, q for car hire, wait for car hire people to sell you extras, then get to car park, get car, load luggage, get you bearings and set off...

or

10) go to magic express

or

10) go get a taxi.

even with minimal queues, allowing 5/6 mins per step - that's an hour...

not including pee pees, I need a drink, finding you way around,

have I missed anything else?

Does it depend on what time you land? We are scheduled to land at 2pm next year should this be quick through?

Depends what other international flights arrive at that time. It's not just the flights from the UK that affect things. There are lots of flights arriving from South America these days.

Don't you have to clear security again after collecting your bags

yep - you have to tell them if you have any food with you and go in a separate line

but its generally just a walk thru - not held up unless they spot check you or you have grub!

You don't gave to go through security again unless you're flying somewhere else.

You go through immigration, customs and straight out to the monorail.

I have voted 1-2 hours, but in reality it was just over the hour on most occasions

We flew on Good Friday this year. Near the front/middle of the plane. (BA rows 20/21), our experience:

Off the plane at landing was really quick, to immigration quick - 2 planes had landed ahead of us - queue was out the hall in the corridor up the slope about 20feet.

Took 30 min to get to the lady who was deciding if you could use the machine or not. We got a yes. The queue in front of us was still half the line at this point (about a plane's worth)

Machine took less than 10 min for the 4 of us - DH passport rejected - no slip, mine and DD15 black cross, DD13 fine.

Go to guy at end of section, puts us in line for a desk - only one ahead of us, so less than 10 min wait.

Guy at desk sorts us out no problems - under 10min to get through.

Go to get luggage, it is beside the carousel, quick loo-relay trip - under 10min.

Go to customs - no line, have food, told to go straight through anyhow.

Up escalator, monorail there, over to Terminal, out to car park, Avis preferred - says go to booth - show them credit card, sign agreement, go to car, off...

Just a smidge over an hour and 40 min to get to the car.
