My pleasure. Thanks for reading.

I'm glad others also loved the pink castle. It seems to get a lot of negative comments.

Another couple here who went in 1997- the clothes of that era - we had huge glasses the pink castle (we are in the not too keen on it camp) and the joy of being able to fit in all the parks and attractions in a two week trip- I think that it was the year before we finally went to Kennedy Space Centre too.
Great photos and a trip down memory lane. Thank you.

Maybe I'm showing my utter lack of fashion sense, but I don't think the clothes back then were that much different to today.

I agree that visiting the parks and attractions back then was much simpler - with just 5 main parks (3 Disney, 1 Universal, 1 Seaworld) and going in winter when it was slightly too cold for waterparks meant that we had plenty of time to do everything.

Great memories. We first went July 97. Did Universal and Kennedy and a tour around the coast.

I remember them buiding the toy store so it must have opened 97?

Excellent thank you so much for sharing!

A Hercules parade! My fiancé would have loved that it's his fave Disney film.

I loved the old pointe Orlando and that toy shop! With that doll, the massive robot and the big Barbie shoe.

Great pictures

Enjoyed that,it was like reading about our own first time,we stayed in the Gateway Inn too. I blame the pink castle as the reason I had to go back to see the real castle! I really miss the Skyway.I remember when we were in FAO Schwarz they ushered everyone out early as we were told Michael Jackson was in town and wanted to visit.A nice walk down memory lane, thanks for sharing.

Coo, someone else who stayed at the Gateway Inn! I think the main reason we stayed there was because my parents had stayed there a year or two beforehand and recommended it. Oh, and the free shuttles to the theme parks.

Compared to some toy shops nowadays, the inside of FAO Schwarz probably wasn't that amazing. But at the time, it was pretty cool - especially the piano keyboard in the floor that you could play by jumping and walking on.

Thanks for reading!
