Ah, Siesta Key is great or Skig (hence my user name)

The sand is powdered Quartz and no matter how Hot the day gets the sand stays cool.
A walk along from public beach area to "point of rocks " paddling all the way is a great way to spend an hour or two.
Concessions at public beach and rest rooms.
If you don't know the area and are Orlando lovers you should have a day there if you're schedule allows.
The village tries to keep "old style" and is relaxed.
Big shops and supermarkets available just off the island..
Can't wait til October

Loving your trip report. Siesta Key looks brilliant. Good that you got the Dr visit sorted out.

We’ve got over a year to wait for our visit to the Gulf Coast but this is definitely whetting my appetite.
