Best to book the most popular ones. The sites are clean and safe.

We loved touring around but found the size of the vehicle restrictive (can quite understand why locals tow a car behind their vehicle). Parking can be a problem although we did park kerbside a few times but were warned that break in could happen!
The second thing we found a bind was eating, even with facilities didn't want to cook and finding eateries with RV parking were few and far betwee
n except for the large chains.
The van itself was fine and the 2 utility packs were comprehensive. (utensils and bedding)

Hooking up was quite easy, water. electric and sewer pipe no problem. Manouvering onto the pitch was fine as all US sites are pull-throughs, no nasty reversing! One thing to remember is to put a "pitch reserved" in situ, we came back to find our place occupied and they wouldn't move, they were British too.:cry
We found another pitch and were given a free voucher.
All in all We enjoyed the three weeks but wouldn't do it again.
Whoops. a bit long.
I can't thank you enough! That was a fantastic lot of information. Totally appreciate it.

I would do it in theory. In practice though, my worry would be like a previous poster says, it very much restricts where you can go! Once you are on a site, you have to pack up each time you want to go anywhere!

Oh my! I had to have a google at Boon docking at Hotel Walmart! Who’d have known this was a ‘thing!’

I think I’ve talked myself out of it and will stay at Anna Maria in a villa! I’m such a wimp!

🤣

I rather think if we hired an RV we’d just want to park up at Fort Wilderness the whole time!
