We could have transferred all our plans and tickets to next September but decided to take a refund. Currently WDW re-opening plans extend into late September next year and none of ut sounds like "magic" to me:-
-Having to book park days now for a holiday next year.
-no park hopping.
-no fast pass.
-wearing a mask in Florida heat.
-many events such as fireworks cancelled.

Now of course you could argue that they will have scrapped that system by next year and returned to normal, but the only evidence I see on the pandemic in the US is it worsening. Florida is experiencing 10,000 new cases a day. Arizona is having a similar number, this is the same number of cases per day as the whole of the European union whose population is 60 times higher!

A look at the graph on the link below says it all really.

And what are the US doing to buck the trend? WDW is due to open this weekend meaning more visitors and a higher population to further spread the virus. Trump has just announced all schools must re-open in August at full capacity and without restriction!

We have booked a villa for next August 2021 having had this year's holiday cancelled. The booking is 100% cancelable so nothing to lose, we still have our park tickets from this year which have an extended expiry to December 2021. I am still not hopeful for next year, I think it will take longer to sort this mess out 😢

Impossible to predict unfortunately, best case scenario we could be well on our way to normality by the end of this year but worst it drags on well into next. Personally i'm not happy to risk any money until things at Disney are back to how they should be ie no masks and fireworks/parades/character meets all back so I won't be booking yet. We may do so last minute or just delay it til 2022. Everyone is different though, some aren't worried about the parks or have been lots of times so don't mind the restrictions and others are OK with potentially losing deposits if they want to cancel or move dates later.
