Villa location advice
Hi all after 5 years of nagging my Husband has finally agreed to let us return to the House of Mouse. We have been 3 times before and the last 2 occasions stayed onsite. This time however our children are older (12 & 14) and will not necessarily want to do all the character meals etc so we have decided that a villa may be the best option.
This is where I need you help, where is the best location to stay? We will have a car so happy to drive to parks, although transport would also be appreciated (will be visiting all of Disney, Universal and Busch Gardens). We would ideally like some restaurants with 20 min walking distance so that we can maybe enjoy a glass of wine with our dinner some evenings. Thoughts and advice welcomed - thank you. There is information on here under the tab ‘Villas’. We are going next June for our 14th visit and had the same questions as you. We found a great villa from a DIBB owner at Orange Tree .

There is a villa location map located under the Dibb menu which is a handy tool to see where all the different communities are. Why not pop a request in the villa section area with what you are looking for i.e. number of bedrooms etc and any available owners will reply.

We stayed at Highlands Reserve in 2015 and were able to walk to Berry Town Centre. I would definitely put a request on the villa section.

We stayed here too. Absolutely loved it and as we have a aoa villa next year I don’t think we will get as good place as highlands again. Really fell in love with it there. Yes you can walk to berry town. Only a few places there. The 192 is a little drive away and has loads of places. We went there mostly. Hubby drinks. I drive.

The main thing I'd suggest is to check how far the villas are from I4.
You want easy access onto the interstate to get to those places easily. Kissimmee is the closest to Disney, Universal & SeaWorld. For restaurants etc, just remember that not everywhere has sidewalks and walking in the heat or the dark isn't always the best plan. DO check that the villa has walkable places. E.g. mine are 3m to 192, pretty close, but I would never walk it and the sidewalk isn't there the whole way. |
