Little rude.

So last Thursday I was expecting someone to come around to check our electric sockets (landlord told me), nobody arrived. Then this morning as I'm stuffing my face with a crumpet at my desk working, two electricians just walk into my house. No knock, no warning. I wasnt even wearing a bra! Told him I wasnt expecting him and he could have knocked. He said he would do the other flats first then come back.

Little rude! And he wasnt wearing a mask, which I found a little odd.

Am I reading this right? They used the Landlords key and just let themselves in without knocking?

If so that's unacceptable. For example you could have been in the shower or on the loo!

So rude! Weird about the facemask too. Maybe they just presumed nobody would be in? But if they are working in close proximity with one another they should still be wearing them.

I had this at uni accommodation once. Fair enough you have less rights at uni but my boyfriend and I rented out a 'family flat' so we had a lounge bedroom kitchen bathroom and our own front door and a work guy just waltzed on in. I was having a classic uni meltdown at the time and was lying on the lounge floor and we were all a bit shocked, I don't think he anticipated to find me there!

Holy Macaroni is this even lawful? Wow 😮 I would be hopping mad. I know workmen need access but come on there’s ways and means. I find it difficult the men were told just to enter by the landlord (I hope not anyway) I feel it is the workmen who have got this wrong and I would report them to whatever company they are from. What if you were in the shower or in bed.

That’s awful, you could have had no clothes on or have been in the shower or something. Even if he thought you might have been out, surely he should have knocked. My mum has had a male landlord in the past and she was always double locking her door as he had a habit of just letting himself in...

Unbelievable that they would just walk in to your house. Even when a customer said no one would be in and gave me a house key to let myself in, I still knocked on the door and waited just in case someone was in (and occasionally someone was still in the house). After waiting I then shouted out when I entered the house (Hello its the electrician).

Unacceptable behaviour and I'm not at all surprised you aren't happy.

I refused a plumber the other day though with no mask, he said he didn't need to wear one and that he hadn't got the virus 😂
I politely told him to go and sling his hook 😠😆
Next plumber came, mask, visor and gloves, job done 👍

I'm sure my landlord didnt agree, as he hasnt done anything bad in the 8years we have been here. My husband didnt have his top on as it's super hot in the flat. Not sure why he would think we were out as my landlord knows we are both working from home.

I'm too shocked to be angry.
