Anyone who is REALLY shortsighted?

That has had laser/lens surgery, how was it?

Mine is -7.50 and -9.00, so anyone nearing that or worse? 🙂

Following as I'm interested in this too. Mine is -8.5 and -8.5. One eye was -9.0 previously but the last time I was tested they brought it back to -8.5. I know the prescription has to be stable for a while (not sure how long) before laser surgery can be considered so I'm hoping to stay around the same at my next test, although I do feel I've maybe got slightly worse recently. It's a curse not being able to see ANYTHING without glasses or lenses isn't it?

Similar age as me, and I'm thinking the same. I'm 47.

47 here and getting fed up with fogged glasses and masks so had a look at this, they seem to recommend lense replacement surgery rather that the laser eye surgery when you are "older" !

I'm a -15 and fear I'm too short sighted to contemplate surgery

My sister had it a few years ago. Worked fantastic for a while. But as her eyes changed again, she needed glasses again.

I’m minus 14 in my left and minus 13 in my right eye. Think that’s too short sighted for surgery, I’d only consider it if I didn’t have to wear glasses/contacts at all.

This is exactly it - my optician said that if I ever get cataracts - which I'm in big risk of - my eyesight would be perfect after they are dealt with!
