If you use water park you supposedly cannot upgrade.
It runs from the day you first used the ticket. You CAN buy a UK ticket, use it in the blackout dates, then on your last day upgrade to an AP with blackout dates. That is a very useful loophole, assuming it is never closed.

We did exactly this in April with no issues, even upgraded in Epcot on a blacked out date and they let us stay in the park, I was expecting to and happy to leave as soon as we'd upgraded.
Be aware though because I have heard people say recently that they've not been able to, no idea if this is because they've tightened up or if it's down to which CM you get!

Uk 14 day tickets are over £400 more likely £430ish usually. It does seem it depends where you get your UK ticket from as some 'seem' to attract a lower value when you upgrade.

Thanks. I would buy from Disneyholidays.co.uk, where 14 day tickets are $399.

Mr Blue Sky. But all you do is nip into the AK, ride FOP and leave. Then walk for miles and miles and join us sunbathing
You don’t need a 14 day ticket you would do quite well with a 14 hour ticket

Many a true word said in jest Tom. I know you drain every last drop of value out of your passes. Our days of going commando (you know what I mean) around the parks have long passed. We go to the parks more for the atmosphere than the thrill nowadays, which makes the passes a very extravagant purchase. 🤷

I’m a bit concerned regarding the going commando comment- no underpants?
