Hi completely new to this site, we are taking our first trip to Disney and Universal in Aug & Sept 2020. My daughter is vegan and Im vegetarian so Im not sure which restaurants to book. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Nicky. Welcome to theDibb! It’s a great place to find info.

I’m not vegetarian or vegan so I can’t offer much experience. However, I would recommend Erin McKenna’s bake shop at Disney Springs. It’s gluten free and vegan. The cakes are really good. I have to bake wheat free and vegan due to food intolerances and it can be really challenging. So it was great to enjoy the cakes and donuts in there.

I know it’s not a restaurant but thought it might be worth a mention!

Also, you can view the menus for Disney restaurants on their website which would give you some ideas. I’m sure Universal would be the same, though we tend to stick to Disney so I don’t know for sure.

Hopefully I’ve added a link to the guide on the disneyworld website. If not just search for plant based on their site and it should come up.

There are also a few vegan Disney websites if you do a google search. I went there last year as a veggie on the quick serve dining plan and found lots of options.

We are a family of vegetarian/pescetarians and have visited Florida and WDW twice and are going again in August. The plant based offerings at WDW have definitely improved since we first went in 2014 and now there is always something on every Disney menu. We have enjoyed the food at Sunshine Seasons in future world in EPCOT, Spice Road Table - Morocco pavilion EPCOT. Any Italian themed restaurant is usually a good choice. We always stay off-site and eat at other places not just WDW. There is a fantastic chain buffet restaurant called Sweet Tomatoes that has loads of veggie and vegan options. There are videos on YouTube about veggie/vegan choices at Disney restaurants. I'm sure you will find lots to eat!

I don’t know how to link to another thread but if you search meat free dining then there’s lots of suggestions on there.
