Stuck in the Tower of Terror

Place you picked the car up from:- MCO
Place you dropped the car up off :- Port Canaveral Category of Car Hired:- Standard SUV Category of Car Taken:- Standard SUV Make of car you got:- Ford Explorer Limited 4WD (7 seater) Hire Car Company Used:- Alamo through DFCH Cost: - £280.00 for 4 days (in December) We used Skip the Queue for this pick up, which is simply amazing. Just rock past all the counters, straight down to the parking lot and jump in a car. There were a few choices, a few Kias and Fords. This was bar far the biggest in the row. The car was fully loaded. It had Apple Car Play, Heated/Cooled Front and Rear Seats, twin second row, pop up third row seats. We drove around Orlando for 4 days then down to PC, and it cost $30.00 to fill up again. We did have a $48 'One Way Drop Fee' to pay on the CC and the Alamo Toll Charge (which came out around 10 days later, also on the CC) Drop off at Port Canaveral was simple enough. You drive around the back and walk into the building. Then then have vans out the front to courier you to your cruise ship. Leave plenty of time for the transfer though, PC was a nightmare with 5 ships in. Edited at 11:11 AM. |

Place you picked the car up from:- Port Canaveral
Place you dropped the car up off :- MCO Category of Car Hired:- Standard SUV Category of Car Taken:- Standard SUV Make of car you got:- Toyota 4-Runner - 4.0 V6 Hire Car Company Used:- Alamo through DFCH Cost: - £88.00 for 1 day (in December) We picked this car up after our cruise to get us back to Orlando. You jump in the Alamo bus at the terminal, and it drops you off at Alamo. We Disembarked quickly, and we were back at Alamo at around 7:45am. We were offered a Toyota Highlander, which i asked if there was anything else, They said they had a 4-Runner, which I declined straight away (we had one before, and they are naff). They gave us the keys, signed the paperwork and we went outside. Hit the blipper, and found we have the 4-Runner. By the time i went back in, the queue was getting long so were lumped with it. It was fully loaded to be fair, with around 26,000 miles on the clock. It was pretty good condition, and easy to get cases in. It had all the usual toys, including Car Play. I would say that whilst driving it, the Car Play screen is awful. It is matte finish, which is hard to see in the sun. Also, the Car Play wouldn't re-connect in-between stops. We returned it to MCO after paying $19 to fill up (from 1 day driving, very thirsty). We did also have to pay $48 for the 'One Way Drop Fee' and have since had the Alamo Toll Charge, which just appears on the CC |

Category of Car Hired:- Standard SUV Category of Car Taken:- Premium Crossover Make of car you got:- Dodge Durango GT(7 seater) Hire Car Company Used:- Alamo through Italian link Cost: - £617 for 14 nights Full row in the Standard SUV section and wanted American so it was between this and a Chevy which was locked so loaded up the Dodge only to discover the keys weren’t there. Went to the desk and they said they have the keys to that because it’s a higher class but seeing as I had loaded it up and it was in the row they handed me the keys. Had 18 (eighteen) miles on the clock at pick up and very much full of that new car smell. Really nice inside and decent enough to drive with sport mode being fun. Cooling seats been very welcome today after 18k steps and counting round Epcot earlier |
