Tell me about the magic express please

Never used it before. Next year, with the parking costs, I’m thinking of ditching the car for the time we are onsite.

A few questions about the magic express

Do you need to book?
Typically how long do you need to wait for it?
Are they specific for each hotel?
How long does it normally take to get you there?

As a side question. How much would it cost in a taxi from the airport to port Orleans?

yes you book online but i doubt they would turn you away if u rocked up at the airport to their desk and were staying on site

up to 45 mins wait at airport but ive never waited more than about 15mins - once your on the coach they are playing a video of cartoons and about the parks so you dont notice the wait

No - each coach can drop off at up to 3/4 resorts - again maybe ive been lucky but ive always been the 1st or 2nd drop off (staying at OKW, CBR, POFQ)

around 45mins from airport to first resort (not including wait times)

Used the ME for our last 3 visits. On our last visit, we had to wait about 30 mins for the coach, and then another 30 minutes before we left the airport.

Hopefully it won't be so long this time.

We are trying it for the first time this year, always been put off by the time it takes before.

We usually get a taxi, I think it is about $50.

Yes we have needed to book. We’ve used it twice CBR and AKL - took no more than 20 min wait in airport and can’t think it was more than 40 mins on it before resort arrival. CBR was just it’s own bus when we went as resort is big. Shared bus for AKL with Kidani next door. If you’re staying POR I’d guess you’ll maybe be with POFQ too on the coach? It’s all about being in the Disney bubble on the magic express so it is just as much the experience as the transport really which if you have young kids they will enjoy. If you want a taxi then it’ll be quicker.

Do the bags get taken directly to your room or do you have to wait to grab them when the bus gets where you are going

Just take your bags to bell services and they will deliver them to your room after you check in.
Might even take you there in a golf cart. We normally tip them either one or two dollars per case.
