It is based on the highway code, which we should all be familiar with . You always use the most left lane, which is lane 1. You overtake on the outside which means the lane to the right.
It also uses the nearside as the terminology for the side closest to the kerb which is also use for the MOT and other such motoring functions. Don't believe anywhere in the highway code do they refer to the slow lane and fast lane. |

The correct terminology for a 3 lane Motorway is as follows
Lane 1 CLOC Lane Lane 3 The term CLOC refers to those who use it and belong to the Centre Lane Owners Club This means they drive at 60mph and won't move no matter what is happening around them.
