Giving Car Rental Employees a Tip

I tipped the Hertz guy at MCO when he went out of his way to find me what I wanted when the allocated car wasn’t suitable. He didn’t want to take it but I insisted, I wanted to show my gratitude for the excellent customer service I was given.

If you get good service then why not if they pressure you then no

Last year we had booked a 8 seat passenger van, I asked if they had any Surburbans as my son really wanted a surburban, it was also my birthday which the Avis man had noticed from my driving licence, he asked us to wait, he then gave us a surburban free of charge and said he wanted to make our day, we then tried to give him a tip to say thank you but he refused and said it was enough to see how happy we were - what a lovely man and both my DH and DS were thrilled.

We had similar yesterday with Alamo at Tampa. The woman there could not have been more helpful and got me exactly the car I wanted. She wouldn’t accept the $10 tip I offered her.
