Why dont Disney offer bunk beds as standard?

We've got 3 children and 2 adults, one child is on the pull down bed at Port Orleans and the other is on the inflatable bed. Our eldest is autistic and wouldn't be able to share a bed which is why we chose this option. The last time we stayer saratoga springs but this option was £7,000 more so we decided to take the inflatable bed instead!

They do have them at CBR and POR. They're called Murphy beds and they pull down from a unit in the room, with 2 queen sized beds too. You need to book the 5th sleeper category at both resorts to get one.

Wilderness Lodge has bunk bed rooms - we’re staying in one at present.

We had to move resorts , there’s only 4 of us but my mum and my youngest couldn’t possibly share , we had ak booked with a bunk bed then they took them out and couldn’t see a problem with a 72 year old and a 15 yr old sharing ! I debated over a blow up but ak rooms aren’t huge and would have got on my nerves keep shifting it plus why pay all that money to sleep on the floor , I moved us to the yacht club , cost an extra £400 but we all have our own bed .
Wilderness lodge have the bunks but they didn’t have availability ,

Maybe have a look at POFQ as they’re all queens in the double rooms ... still not ideal for you but better than standard doubles !

I actually think the availability of family rooms at WDW which is, after all, aimed at families is appalling. Regardless of what regular hotels do or don’t do Disney could do with a rethink IMHO

We’ve just got back from 2 weeks at all star music, we’re 2 adults and 3 kids so had a family suite which was fab. Separate bedroom, 2 bathrooms, little kitchen and pull out beds in the lounge. They sleep 6, very spacious and comfortable.

We have done PORS with 2x 12 year olds. PORS has queen beds and they shared a bed with pillows down the middle. The USA queen beds were big enough to do this and for them to still have loads of room and not annoy each other.

At the end of the long days, all they will care about is sleep anyway.

I agree that more bunk beds would be better for families, especially those of us blessed with one of each.
Sharing a queen in 2017 when DD was 9 and DS was 4 was hard enough, we tried every combination but both kids are wriggly sleepers.

We have booked CBR 5th sleeper next year for this very reason!

This year we stayed over at Alton Towers Hotel and the room we stayed in had a bunk bed for the kids with their own small tv and xbox, then a partition and our queen size bed and separate tv for DH and I.
This was ideal!

I imagine the reason they don't do bunk beds at WDW, and are getting rid of them in AKL is that it probably makes the task of changing sheets much more difficult for mousekeeping.

My son has a mid sleeper and I hate the task of changing his bedding as I have to get up there to do it!
