I got a good deal on iPhone xr on Black Friday and I use my phone constantly. I still only have to charge it once every two days! But we shall see how long that lasts lol.
Hence why OH has such problems as he is only allowed my second hand ones 🤣 I do like the idea of having it on phone but not sure I would do it as it’s not much effort to have the passport in your hand! I do panic about losing the passport when I’m in the airport I’m constantly checking I haven’t left it in a shop or at check in haha! |

Absolutely NOT! I hate using my phone for important stuff, much prefer to have physical copies/ documents in my hand!

One should ALWAYS have a paper chain to refer to whatever your doing should you ever need proof of anything. I have had countless incidents where because I have always got a paper chain for everything, I have been proved correct to the point where I have been paid compensation along with an apology - start putting all your stuff on your phone and your asking for trouble (wheres your paper proof if you need to claim compo for delayed flights, lost luggage) you always need to send off proof of Boarding pass, luggage tags etc etc. Gonna need a hell of a lot of space (SD card) on your phone to Keep all this stuff on - who doesn't delete stuff after its been used only to realise you need it later!
Apart from that how about those who don't even on a 'smart' phone!

Even if this came in, I can’t think it would be the only option. You can put your boarding pass on your phone but you can also print out your boarding pass, so I imagine it would be the same, you can have your passport on your phone or have the physical copy.

At Miami recently, when boarding the plane home they used facial recognition to board us rather than showing passports and boarding passes. We were advised to have them handy just in case it didn’t work properly, but it made it a very swift process!
I’d prefer to have physical copies of things so would have them as a back up, but it would certainly make it a lot quicker and easier if we could use our phones instead.
