We stayed in Kowloon and thought it was great. We had a harbour view room in the Kowloon Shangri La and it was superb.

Trying the Icon in October -it gets great reviews.

We found it just as easy to be on the Kowloon side we had great views looking over towards the island. You can catch the Star Ferry over really easy and lots of great shopping on Kowloon side.

we went for 2 days, first day was a whole day. 2nd day was after doing the Bib Buddha and cable cars one morning.

Enjoyed Mystery manor and Iron Man. And star wars version of SPace Mountain. (hope that was HK, I also did Tokyo same trip)

We stayed in central HK and got the tram over.

Hong Kong is quite compact so as long as your hotel is near an MTR station you’ll get anywhere easily. I stayed at Quarry Bay which was 20 minutes by MTR to Central and got a lovely hotel for the price I paid. There are some amazing hotels over on Kowloon (The Langham, The Peninsula) so there is something for every budget.

Disneyland is certainly worth a visit (what other response would you get on a Disney forum ). It’s very green and very pretty. I bought the meal deal with my ticket but found it a bit restrictive as I’m a fussy eater.

We have just returned from staying at the Icon. Amazing hotel, I can’t say enough good things about it! We were pleased we’d chosen Kowloon, it seemed to be less hectic.

Yes I agree, when we were there it was also less smelly. Lots of days without rain and very hot!

Glad to hear you liked the Icon

Worth checking out Ocean Park while you're there. Check out Theme Park Worldwide vlog from there, looks absolutely amazing .

We loved HK Disney. The train trip there from the city was great with a Disney train. The Park itself was great, old school Disney with good rides. Mystic Manor was good and the atmosphere in the whole park was friendly and welcoming. Don’t miss it.

Also use the Star Ferry and the underground for transport. Very easy to find your way around. Organised trips were overpriced by comparison.

Thanks for all the advice. We are on the verge of booking a hotel and definitely plan to visit Disney.

Been looking at tickets and what’s this meal package all about? Something like £24 each but mentions a lunchtime meal plus signature restaurant meal after 4.30. That sounds too good to be true.
