Despite never having had a fastpass for FOP we tried a strategy at AK last night which worked a treat.

We had heard that if you queue just before park closing the standby time was inaccurate. This was confirmed by a CM who advised it’s because there are no Fastpasses issued for the past hour.

Park closed at 21:30hrs, we queued at 21:10hrs. All done in 40 minutes, fast moving queue, stunning ride 😎

We were having a day off today... but I decided to have a look to see what we could get. I went on at 11.02 and got 4 fp 12.45 to 1.45 for avatar... so even if you haven’t been able to get them at your 60/30 days, they obviously make some available on the day.

Likewise, we got FPs today at 1pm for 3.45 slot. Saved us a long queue! Amazing ride.

We were in the same boat with 30 days. Been he just over two weeks and it's never been available on FP. Then today we were in Hollywood Studios and had used our 3 fast passes and I was checking through all 4 parks when a slot opened up for FOP.

I quickly got it booked and we set off to AK as it was only an hour away. When we arrived the SB queue was at 135 mins so a very popular ride. We were on the ride within 10 mins of checking in. It is worth the wait though.
