Just be prepared to book as soon as the alert comes through. Due to the time difference the alerts can often come through in the early hours of the morning. Once booked, if the time isn't exactly what you want you can always set another alert and try to amend it.

Very fortunate! I have found touringplans alerts to be a a waste of my time, always alerted in the early hours and always gone by morning. I don’t bother with it any more as that has happened so many times, I think my success rate is 1 out of 200.
