The message iam getting through numerous vlogs and media reports is that disney have built this whole new land that doesn,t relate to any of the movies, which I think was a terrible idea, it,s like universal building harry potter without Hogsmeade and diagon alley, I think someones made a massive boo boo, but this is just what iam hearing on social media.

Art of Animation - 25%, All Star Sports- 25%
Port Orleans Riverside - 20%
Coronado, Gran Destino Tower, Water View - 30%
Animal Kingdom Lodge & Saratoga Springs 35%
I don't know it means anything in relation to StarWars build-up but I was surprised to see MK hours reducing when we're there in a couple of weeks time. As we've approached previous vists hours generally get longer.

How do you mean reducing? They have increased them.

I think a lot of people are waiting for it to open fully, I know we have family members who are going in the spring for that reason.

Bah! You're right - that's weird, seems I read them the wrong way around.

I was hoping it might mean it wasn't going to be quite as busy.

I do think Disney thought they were immune to bad publicity. Every price gouge and uproar on the internet was simply brushed away.
Have they finally broken the loyal customer base? Not sure. I still think when ROTR opens and it blows people away (anticipate), they'll flood back.
But when a recession comes... Big issues.

I suspect the interweb is somewhat exaggerating how “quiet” the park is.

It probably is quieter for a Disney park - blocking a million annual pass holders is going to do that - but I bet it’s not that quiet.

So, it lasts until just before Galaxy’s Edge opens? Sounds like the period before GE opens is quietish (well, for WDW) and Disney is expecting it to be busier from the 29th.

Galaxy’s Edge opens 29th August. That’s a whole month of discounts once it’s opened.

Ah, looking at it again, I misread it to say "7/15/2019 – 8/28/2019" - i.e. it would end on 28th August. But that's actually a 9 not an 8. Oops.

Interesting. Is it quiet in the WDW resorts at the moment?

I think it’s a lot to do with AP blockouts - we were there in April before it opened and it was the busiest I have ever seen a Disney park, like we were struggling to move around. I think they also did a great job at reducing demand with the reservations and systems.

However the cynic in me is thinking that they might do everything they can at WDW to make it look busy!
