FP availability tool on here is showing there are FPs available for 2 people on 1 August at the moment. Have a try now if you can rejig your plans to be in the park for that date. It's a great ride - we and our kids loved it.

Yup! The keep the line open until park close and at that point, nobody else can join the queue but everyone who is already in the queue will get to ride. Think of park close as 'queues stop' time, rather than 'rides stop' time.

Having said that, I have heard, anecdotally, of them closing the line early - but I asked the ride CM on several occasions and each one said that the line would definitely stay open until park close. Each time we joined it about 10 mins before closing and were on the ride within about 50 minutes.

But you still effectively queued for over 90 minutes?

Within 50 minutes! Oh dear that was not what I expected, I thought people were going to say it was practically a walk on at park close. Unfortunately 50 minutes is way over my wait time tolerance.

You're moving all the time though, and have things to look at. And part of that includes a pre-show thing. You'll never get on it with less than that sort of wait at the moment. Even if you're the first person on the ride in the morning, you'll have been waiting outside the park in the morning.

Your only other option is to pay for an after hours event - that still wo'nt be a walk-on but I think it's something like 15 minutes?

I am aware of FoP stand by queues. The comments had me wondering if joining the queue at park close time avoided a queue and seems like it doesn’t.

I did the after hours event in February, the only wait we had was whilst we watched the pre show bits, otherwise it was a walk on. The first time we waited maybe 10 minutes as the final day guests were also in the queue but after then we walked back round and straight on with no delay at all (other than for the preshows) quite a few times.

We are visiting next June. I am hoping by that point that GE will be absorbing far more of the FP bookings, so Pandora may be quieter...

Maybe the opening of Galaxy Edge will take something from FoP.
Rope Drop is a plan but you still get to wait before the park opens.
We took the plunge and went in on a 70 minute wait!
About 50 minutes to get on the ride and it went pretty quick.
Never my Plan A but no other options.
Ride was fantastic though.

Instead of trying to book everyone's fastpasses together try looking for one person at a time as you might find you can get them all 10 minutes apart but still within an hour time slot to go together. We have done that many times. Good luck!
