Full to Empty

Hold on card for $60 or so.
Then return car and hold amount is charged.
Still a hold on card?
Is this normal?

You might get some detailed response if you said which car hire company.

Did you take an extra that allowed you to return empty and pre-paid for it. I know from personal experience Alamo only take $1 hold and it drops off very quickly.

You've booked with Alamo? You agreed to take the fuel service option so collect full return back empty?

They'll take a security hold which would be the $60
You return the vehicle, the $60 is charged to your card.
Around 1 to 5 days later, the hold drops off... But this can also vary depending on your card.

Mick
Yeah, sorry Mick, was Alamo. It was my UK Debit and they held the full amount.
