Thanks for this. I’ve cancelled our Hertz booking so we can pick up from the car care centre with Alamo instead.

Just checked my booking with DFCH and it’s down to £340 from £378 (10 days full-size SUV from Tampa). I’ve asked Andy to rebook it.

I’ve just looked at the prices for a people carrier in Oct have come down by quite a bit. There’s an option to add persona accident and roadside plus cover. If I don’t opt for these would we still be fully covered insurance wise? Last time I booked with Alamo I’m sure i wasn’t offered those. Thanks

PAI - Personal Accident Insurance is a waste of money for UK visitors. Your travel insurance covers the same things

Roadside assistance is the enhanced cover that some take some don't - like me.

It means they will come out and change a tire for you, covers the undercarriage, misfuelling, lost keys etc.

Not taking either or both of these has no impact on the car insurance coverage offered by CDW/LDW and SLI/EP

If I pay in full on Alamo Brits rates can I still change if rental becomes cheaper with no penalties? Thanks in advance

Yes you can. What they do though is charge the new price to your card and refund the previous booking. I use a credit card anyway so it’s not an issue but it may be if you’re using a debit card.

Bit the bullet and just booked an Economy only 2 of us for 3 weeks £461 it actually worked out cheaper than Alamo Trade ( I’m a Travel Agent) which is supposed to be 30% discount as opposed to Alamo Brits 10% 🤔 hoping for an upgrade 🤞
