Mobile Car return time

We are here now and I’m returning my Alamo hire car today, I had originally said drop off at 3 but am I right in thinking I can keep it until the time I picked it up? I collected at 8pm and would prefer to drop it off at 5ish? TIA

Yes hire starts from the time you exit the garage so 5 is fine

Yep. I second the confirmation.

I had a FB conversation with Avis about this as my booked flight times were arriving/departing after my booked car times.

Thank you it was fine, although there was no-one at Buena Vista Palace and the whole Alamo parking bit is closed off so I had to get the concierge to locate them. I'm a bit concerned now as I have another hire car to pick up from there in a couple of weeks, thinking maybe I should collect from elsewhere?

As said definitely, hire starts the time you collect it

If the Alamo website accepted your booking at the time you put it will be open. If you choose a hotel type location it immediately checks what you require is possible.

A quick Google of the BVP location shows their hours are:-

Mon - Fri 08:00AM - 05:00PM
Sat 08:00AM - 05:00PM
Sun 08:00AM - 05:00PM

Will I have a choice of car do you think? Ive opted for an SUV and I'm thinking there won't be any choice from the hotel?

Probably no choice whatsoever. May I ask why you selected this place? So much better at the CCC.

We are staying at Old Key West and picking up the car on our last day, this came up as the closest place to collect, I never even thought about the lack of choice ☹️

The trouble with the hotel locations is they aren't allowed to keep that many cars there. The hotels first consideration is their guests car parking spaces with the rental company being second.

There will always be the cars that are reserved and maybe 1 or 2 saloons for walk ins. Thats it. That's not just the BVP it will be all of them.

The only place you get a choice is the airport but the CCC does have loads of cars so you can ask for something else albeit they may refuse.

Can you switch the location by amending the booking? The other option if you get palmed off with a dog is to drive straight to the CCC and swap it out.
