BA allocated seats
Logged in to see how the map is looking and we’ve been allocated a central row of 4 seats together
Almost all of the window side seats are still available on both sides of the plane (rows of 3) but central 4s are all gone now apart from a couple of single seats here and there. Glad we held off |

Great to have saved the booking fee! I take it you are travelling as a 4 and that suits you?

We are resisting on our NCL to Heathrow but have reserved seats in WTP for Gatwick to MCO. There are 4 A and 2 Children, I was confident the little ones would be in a 4 with their parents but I wanted to make sure we were near them 😊
I haven’t bothered yet for the return flight as we may be better off separated then anyway 🤣 Have a great trip Dawn

How soon before you fly can you reserve your seats as there are only the two of us this year as the kids are all grown up and this is the first Florida’s holiday without them. We normally pre book the seats so we can sit together but have decided to wait as there are only two of us. Ncl to Heathrow and then to Miami.

If you are paying to reserve, you should be able to do it when you book.
Otherwise it’s as per your BA membership status or when online check in opens. Have a great first child free trip - it’s always strange the first one Dawn

Great to hear you're happy with your seats.
We've never had an issue with what BA allocated with us when we've flown with them, however, we always dive in as soon as the flight opens for check in to see if we can get anything better that suits us as an option. If you're paying to chose your seats you can do it immediately once your booking is confirmed but i think BA should just move to letting you select at time of booking on anything higher than hand luggage only fares and look at giving their BAEC members something different.

Thanks for this post. We don't want to waste £260 reserving seats but I am concerned I wouldn't be sat next to OH. We will have to wait until 24 hours before to select seats as it's just the two of us. If the seat selection was cheaper I'd probably have done it but £66 per seat each leg, ridiculous.

My husband and I have travelled with BA lots on our own and always been seated together.

My advice if you're not paying, be on the OLCI as soon as the flight opens so that you have as much chance as possible to move if you need it.
It's very rare to hear complaints about booking parties being split up on BA, if that's of any consolation.
