virgin Atlantic 4 hour delay EU compensation

Hello, I just wanted to let people know, that our flight back to Manchester from Orlando VS76 was delayed due to one of the engines not starting on the taxiway, and they had to replace a starter unit for the engine. The flight continued on its way but was delayed over 4 hours. Someone mentioned about an EU law that you are entitled to compensation depending on circumstances.
I got an email from Virgin Atlantic and I have been awarded 600 euro per adult. Happy days... If you where on that flight VS76 on the 7th of July ,you are entitled to this also.
