This procedure changed my life. I had the ablation then the mirena coil inserted while i was still under. I was always in pain and the flooding was out of control. some days i couldn't leave the house,i always had a bag packed in the car with spare knickers, trousers and a towel to sit on to drive home. .The op was fine, no pain after a few days then then after 2 months the flooding stopped. I could sleep on a normal sheet instead of a waterproof mattress protector and the pads toddlers sleep on. It took ages for me to have the confidence to take my emergency bag out of the car. Now I have my life back

Mine was a mesh net balloon and heated water/ special
Saline solution. I had trouble with my periods from the age of 7 when mine started. Never regular in the early years and horrendous in my teens, not much better on birth control. I suffered with an inability to conceive for a while too. My son was a miracle rainbow baby I lost his twin in the second trimester and that shook me to the core. I struggled with iron levels and vitamin B 12 and B5 and B6 and vitamin D absorption too. So months later I’m glad for the break and trying to take better care of myself, there are so many people dependant on me being fit and healthy. If I never have another period I wouldn’t be concerned. My last blood test said I wasn’t even peri- menopausal yet go figure ! I do carry sanitary protection “ just in case” cos we all know Mother Nature can be a cruel mistress😉
Good luck to all the women out there suffering with this and if you can talk to a great lady doctor at your GP surgery it made a huge difference to me and my life now. Someone who is going to listen and take action is a huge benefit to you.

I had my EA yesterday. Had a GA and feel fine. I had low blood pressure following the GA and had to stay in recovery for about an hour but felt fine. I've had no pain, just taking paracetamol and ibuprofen as a precaution.

I’m currently sat in the doctors! Will update but fingers crossed she’ll refer me. It’s actually getting to the point it’s not fair now. I could cry!

Got my referral letter today. Had 8 choices of hospitals and quickest appointment is 17th October. A little while off but hopefully they will agree the procedure.

I’m on the waiting list
For a novasure treatment which burns all the lining out of the womb as
My periods are horrific and can by three weeks on on week off sometimes

They also suggested the coil after but there is no way on this earth I’d have the mirena coil I had a horrible ectopic pregnancy caused by the coil and they removed my tub fetus and coil
During an emergency
Op
I’ve no tubes now so contraception isn’t required they wanted the coil
In for Hormones
