Passport renewal times

Just thought I’d post about renewal times at the moment. We did the online renewal two weeks ago today, after killing ourselves laughing at the photos we were taking of each other! Problems with Richards photo as the site kept saying it couldn’t see the outline of his head! In the end we left the photo and wrote in the box that his hair is white, nothing we can do about it! Several texts etc to keep us up to date and new ones arrived this Thursday. Estas approved overnight last night so it looks like we’re going back to Florida on Christmas Day!

I'm dreading doing my next Passport picture, probably have issues with the light reflecting off my bald head.

DH had white hair problems with his online photo too. He ended up getting a photo taken at local camera shop where he was given a code to use on passport site.

We took so many photos but just wrote in the box in the end, you can clearly see his head so I guessed that when a real person looked at it it would be fine.

We tried that too but got fed up with it still being rejected, it was worth the £10 for photos as I wasn't going to book a flight without ESTAs and DH passport expired before planned holiday.

I must have been lucky, posted Tuesday lunchtime and a new one arrived the following Monday, new passport because of change of name and updated photo.
Very impressed how quick.

We only sent our old ones back on the Monday. I was impressed at the timing too, it said about 3 weeks!

We didn't have the outline of the head problem, just not finding head problem haha. Mine was I had black circles under my eyes! Thanks! Well it was due to the fact I had a broken nose so circles were fading from the bruising. My daughter had to do my makeup to hide them- felt like I could peel it off haha. We got ours back in just over a week. Much easier now online.

I just did my application this morning. I also got the error to say they couldn't see the outline of my head. I just wrote in the box that it passed the photobooth checks (I'd had the same problem with a photo I took at home, so I was a a bit paranoid) and that I believe that the outline of my head can be seen when the photo is viewed.

Fingers crossed - I've left it so late and it's expired which is entirely unlike me on both counts!
