I’m the same. This is all so strange to me just too risky to book now so I’d rather have less risk by booking it close to the time, even though there’s still the risk of it changing whilst away!

Myself and my 5 kids have just returned from Lake Garda. We flew Edinburgh to Milan Bergamo and had Private transfers to Peschiera. It was an absolutely brilliant holiday and it was so nice visiting Theme Parks without queues. Both Airports were easy and an absolute breeze even with 5 kids in tow and they managed masks without any problems. Wondering now where we can go next!

Oh lovely! How did you find it when you were actually there as well? Italy is probably my top choice as we love it there, but think we’re thinking Rome and the Amalfi coast if we can do a bit of a road trip

Masks are required in Shops and on buses and trains. We spent a lot of time doing Water Sports in the lake and swimming so outside was no problem. Most eateries have outside space so again a mask wasn’t required. It was very relaxed and somewhere I can’t wait to return to. They were strict on the return home at Bergamo airport with regards to Temp Checks, you are checked to enter the Airport then twice more before you board.

We have still got 2 weeks leave booked in October following our rescheduled US trip to next year and are determined to go somewhere without the threat of quarantine being imposed on entry back to the uk or that doesn’t require a covid test on arrival or before you go.

We know we need to go 6+ hours for decent weather so had contemplated Dominican Rep but their cases are increasing to a new level and they have just declared a state of emergency I think so can’t see that one clearing up. Holding out for the UAE again (were only there in March) but it will literally be a last minute job. Booking through Emirates / Emirates Holidays also gives you a certain level of covid cover now I believe.

That’s the same as us. We were supposed to be away for 3 weeks so actually have nearly 3.5 weeks booked off work that I now feel like is going to be partially wasted! I’m hoping we can get away somewhere for 10-14 days to make use of it, or that our US flights get cancelled with enough notice that we can look into rescheduling our leave to bring it forward before a second wave potentially comes and we can’t go anywhere again
