Well that was truly a once in a lifetime trip and the best holiday I can ever remember having. Nearly 4 weeks starting in Calgary and a Rocky Mountaineer Package, a week in all in Vancouver (now my fave City and I would love to return) around the Disney Alaskan cruise and all followed up by 5 nights in Disneyland.

Yes, we thought so. It's in easy walking distance of Stanley park, Gastown and the downtown shopping area.

Another vote for the Pan Pacific. Have stayed there on 3 occasions over as many years. Yes, it's expensive but if you book the right room type, and request a high floor room, there is simply no view better of the North Shore mountains, harbour and Stanley Park areas.

DS lives in Vancouver and we always stay at Rosedale on Robson, they are all suites and quite big rooms but its near BC place a bit further away from where the cruise ships leave from but still handy for Gastown and the aquabus across to Granville island

Interesting to see another couple of recommendations - thank you! I just can’t believe the prices though... Pacific Rim is over £1000 for 3 nights. I can’t justify it. I’ve seen a deal for Hotel Blu for less than half that - it gets really good reviews on tripadvisor. Anyone stayed there?
