Trip to coast- Anna Maria, St Augustine and Tampa are all good choices.
If you like a walk the Tampa River Walk my wife had I really enjoyed last Xmas (left the kids to go to the parks.)

Bok Tower, scenic lake ride at Winter Park, scenic canal ride at Mount Dora, Harry Leu gardens, a mooch round Celebration.

A bit further afield Anna Maria Island about 2 hours away for a day trip and even St Augustine just on the limit of a day trip,

Mick I would agree with you they are all on our have done list. Especially Winter Park and Anna Maria Island which visited several times.I would also add a trip down to Key West more for the fantastic drive over the Keys than just Key West.

Tapley

Around 20 years ago we did a 2 week road trip to Fort Lauderdale, Key Largo, Key West. Fort Myers Beach then up to Kissimmee. We really enjoyed it but we were only in our 50s then Not sure we'd find living out of suitcases so pleasant now

We've also had longer "static" stays at Longboat Key, St Pete and FMB (again). Absolutely nothing wrong with beach holidays but we just prefer villa life now with the occasional beach trip.

We did plan on maybe a day trip to Sand Key next week but fingers crossed we might in November. In our case the word "plan" means waking up and suggesting a day out.

Driving the 7 mile bridge (and walking a part of the old one next to it) are a couple of the best things that I have done in Florida.

Truly beautiful.

Go and see the Bucs. Now that Tom Brady has signed, you may even see them win!

Can depend on the time of year you're going but our list is:
- College Sports (depending on what's on can be 'football', soccer, basketball). UCF Knights (Orlando) or USF Bulls (Tampa) both have good options. UF is a bit further afield
- Pro Sports: Tampa Bay Rays (MLB - summer), Tampa Bay Bucs (NFL - winter), Orlando Magic (NBA - winter), Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL - winter), Orlando Solar Bears (ice hockey - winter)
- Celebration bike hire and ride
- Lake Apopka wildlife trail. Free one way drive through natural surrounds, guaranteed gator spotting
- Top Golf... yes, even for those who don't enjoy golf or aren't natural golfers it's a great few hours out of the parks
- Clearwater beach - double up with Little Toot dolphin spotting boat ride
- Studio Movie Grill at Margaritaville resort (ok, just a cinema but fully reclining seats with foot rests, full menu and drinks served at your seat) - worth the experience
