Royal pacific - 4 adults - FOTL

This years WDW will be cancelled and early prices for May2021 are too high so exploring other options.

There will be 4 adults and thinking of renting villa for 2 weeks and during this time stay at Royal Pacific for 2-3 nights to gain front of the line, which we love.
Couldn’t cope with 4 of us in one room, so could we book a room for 4 and only 2 stay and the others sleep at villa and drive to RPR each day and join the others?
Have you done this? Has it worked?
Any other options I haven’t considered?

Yes you can do this. Just all be there at check in to receive your room keys which act as front of line passes.

Yes, we've done exactly what you plan when my youngest DD brought her boyfriend along in 2015. That made us a group of 5 adults and although Universal will accept 5 in their hotel rooms, that would have been very weird in our circumstances!

We all turned up for check in to get our FOLP but only my DD and her BF stayed the night, enjoying a night out on their own in Citywalk, myself, DH and our oldest DD returned to our villa and drove back to Universal the next day.

We have done this twice
First at HRH then RPR
DD and DGD check in with us and we spend day in park
But just DW and I stay the night ( usually when HHH is on)
DD and DGD come back next morning for another day in parks
