Mobile Car hire Canada

Just to let you know that best deal I found on car hire was through Canadian Affair, even though didn't book anything else with them. They don't add extra cost for one way rental between lots of popular destinations.
For 8 days next July between Vancouver Airport and Calgary Airport they are charging £240 for 8 days hire including insurance with Avis. For same car, same dates was £300 with British Airways and £388 if booked with Avis directly.

Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Did you just book via their website or did you call them? We are looking to either drive from Calgary to Vancouver or fly so would be good to get some quotes.

Canadian Affair often have a free upgrade offer on car hire, so we would book a small car and get a bigger car free. I am waiting to book when they do this hopefully later in the year.
I agree car hire is very expensive in Canada.

Was directly on their website, Avis allow you to take car across the border as planning a trip to the Boeing factory for a day after Vancouver

We thoroughly enjoyed the Boeing factory tour. There is an outlets just north of it if you fancy some retail therapy

A word of warning! Please plan in time to get your "visas" at the border. It can take 2 or 3 hours just to stand in line to do that. Add in a good hour to actually be queuing in your car.

If you are heading down to Boeing then you will have a booked tour time so you really need to take that into account.

Thanks for the warning. Hoping that if collect the car about 9 am from Vancouver Airport then a mid afternoon tour should be ok?

Yes that should be ok.

Oh and if you like coffee or simply need a stop after the border crossing then one of the first stops you come to has a Woods coffee shop there. A small chain only in Pacific North West but my families favourite

Their cup sizes are named after trees (obviosuly) and the Giant Redwood is big enough to swim in
