So i totally caved and told my dh :/ oh well, hes really pleased and agrees it was a crazy good bargain.

Absolutely no idea how they arrived at such a low price... i literally just inquired. The guy agreed it was a super cheap but didn't seem too surprised so it just must happen sometimes...

Maybe your original ticket was more than normal so upgrade appeared cheaper?

That’s happened to us before. The PE price had just dropped when I called to enquire about an upgrade price and it cost us around £60 each.

Not had this experience with an upgrade but I did once manage £800 return PE flights (original booking) in February with Virgin direct. As someone who has paid £1k per person economy many times for August flights I’d have to agree that February is a great time to travel. I booked about 60 days out on an impulse trip for me and my daughter.
