Mobile Celebration town tavern

Hi. We are going to spend the day in celebration on one our sundays. We plan on going to the market and then hiring bikes and then we’d like to go to the town tavern for lunch. Do you have to book or can you just walk in? There will be just 3 of us. I can see on open table the date we want has become available to book, but the times are only 4pm or later and I wanted more 2pm to 3pm. It’s not until August so I don’t know if more dates will become available or should we just turn up at the time we want and not bother booking. Advice please

If the bookings start at 4 it might simply be that they only take bookings for dinner not lunch. "Sunday lunch" isn't a thing here so I doubt it is fully booked. I would think you would be able to get a table around 2 to 3 without a problem as it isn't that popular a time.

We got a table last August for 10 of us no problem without booking. This was around lunchtime on a Sunday

In all our trips we have never eaten here but I have it pencilled in on our trip this year - is it worth it? It almost seems to good to be true?
Any food choice recommendations?

We ate there last year, can't remember what we had but we thought it was good and the prices weren't bad considering where it is. We plan to go back again this year and we are quite fussy, so it must be okay.

We ate here on 4th July last year. We didn't book, had a 45min wait but managed to get a table for 4 about 7pm. It might be worth just popping in when you go and see what is available.
