Hi, We stayed at Sheraton Park too - v nice rooms and we had balcony as well overlooking california adventure. On site would be great but was a bit pricey for us. We did SFO for 4 nights b4 taking an internal flight down to LA. We didnt stop in La but stayed in Anaheim the whole time. We did bus trips to San diego Zoo and Hollywood. But glad we didnt stay there really as a bit seedy- think blackpool with nice weather! (sorry anyone from blackpool - no offence). This allowed us to use downtown disney every night - which was great for dining/shopping etc. They also ran bus trips to sea world, universal studios etc. We also went to Newport - where they filmed the OC - fantastic beaches and really nice area.
Also if your kids like coasters etc The Knotts Berry theme park looked really good but we didnt get chance to do it - maybe next time. It has snoopy theming etc.

Knotts Berry Farm
Just to add this was my kids favourite in LA. I wished we'd had a 2 day pass as the Wild West area was great. In San Diego check out the Balboa Park website as different areas open at different times and dates. We spent 3 days exploring bits of the park and still didn't finish it all. The Midway - which I thought we'd be done with in an hour or two - we all enjoyed so much we nearly missed our boat trip. Thoroughly recommend the cafe by the boat trip friendly, helpful and great with kids. |
