ive stayed at "the hotel" mandalay bay. we loved it the suite was great, used all the facilaties of mandalay, the pool is great there.only downside is its right onthe end of the strip ,that puts some ppl off ,but u can use the free monorail to excalibur, cross over to mgm and continue using the LV monorail from there if you dont fancy walking

Not stayed there myself but echo danny's views on location.

It really is at the edge of the strip, and if you are going to be spending your time on the strip then I would say its a no no. On the other hand, if you are going to be spending a lot of time in your hotel and in the pool then it would be great.

When we went, we got the Deuce from Mandalay, back to our hotel, TI, and I know it was mid afternoon so very busy, but we did have to wait for about 5 buses to pass us till one was empty enough to get us on, and then it was over an hour to travel to TI.

That alone put me off staying at any hotels in the future that wasn't right in the centre of things.

We are staying there is August with our 3 children. The facilities for them are fabulous.Last time dh and I stayed at the Venetian which was wonderful .We visited the Mandalay bay , in fact we visited them all lol and we managed to get around them no problem ! I don't think the walk is a big deal after WDW personally. There is the free monorail to the Luxor and if you want to visit all the hotels you have to walk/travel the same distance no matter where you are. There is a bar at the top of Mandalay bay which if travelling without children is a must as the view is stunning ! And the cocktails are wonderful/

YES YES YES, have stayed here twice and also the Bellagio, and i rate it above the bellagio! , it is at the top of the strip, but it takes less than 5 minutes walk time to get central strip, its not that bad honestly. the pool is similar to typhoon lagoon. The evening buffet is the best. I would stay here above any other hotels in vegas

Cheers everyone for your opinions! I looked on google earth and I thought the pool was very similar to the Typhoon Lagoon. Think I will book it - cheapest I could find was £650 for 7 nights.

Is this cheap? Does anyone know any cheap sites?

Use the "Las Vegas" sticky at the top of the forum for tips around rooms. I think you may get cheaper - what exact dates are you looking at, and how may adults/children?

Oddly, Mandalay Bay has a strange policy around kids on their offers - it seems to be that, if they are under 14, they go free. So I'll need the ages to, I'm afraid!

Just to correct something said above - it is, no way, 5 minutes walk to central strip. It it more than 10 minutes from the entrance at MB to to the entrance at Luxor, the next casino, by foot! To walk fro m Mandaly Bay to Caesars Palace (which is centre strip) would take at least 30 minutes. It's about 2 miles!

Give us the dates, Melanie, and I'll take a look - there are a couple of really good deals with MB at the moment, I think!

Using this offer:

reservations.mgmmirage/b...mo&code=psumem

You can get a 550 sq fr room for $893 for the 7 nights (about £560) and it includes a $100 cabana credit?
