Last time I was given button seats st checkin as I asked for 4 seats together , we sat down and I noticed two ladies travelling with 3 young kids together - 2 under 3 and one on laps only a few months old.
The airline staff were watching them and trying to figure out what to do. They approached me and before they even asked I offered to give up my seats for the family - if your the only one with a young baby you will get the seats anyway

They seem to go on first come first serve rather than age of the baby, we've used that row when our kids were 4 months, 6 months, 12 months and even 23 months. We've went a couple of times in May and found that the plane wasn't busy and although when they allocated the seats by phone they only gave us two in the bulkhead we found when we got on the plane they had the full row for us to sit on. Hope you get lucky! Xx
Thanks so much for advice, my only concern is my oldet boy is a nervous flyer and i would prefer not to be in a row with another family which is why i was just going to go with two lots of window seats. We may get lucky as you say and get the row of four .
