Should I avoid an ADR at AK?

So far, I purposely haven’t booked an ADR for our planned day at AK- reason being in case we need to take whatever FP+ we can get for FOP, and didn’t want to be limited by a set meal time. Kids really want to do Tusker House though. Not sure whether to book or not ( prob lunch-as using EMH to try and try to get on navi river). It will be our only trip to AK and will be booking FP at 60+6. Will there be enough FP choice to book lunch? Hope that all makes sense?!

You should be OK at 60+6. Plus you could always modify the ADR if the timings happen to clash - that far out, you should have enough choice especially if you don't mind an odd serving time. And don't forget you get an hour's FP window, so it would be fairly unlucky that it happened to start exactly the same time as your ADR and cover the entire thing.

Alternatively book a brunch at TH. That would allow you to get on NRJ (no issue with this at RD - you could probably even RD FOP first and be off both before the end of EMH) and then a quick trip on the safari before heading over to a 10-10:30am breakfast. Then you have most of the day free for the FOP FP.

I did our fp bookings last week. Our Ak day is +6 and they had from 10am onwards. Think I did 10.30 as have tusker house adr for breakfast

60 days had 6pm onwards

Can’t say for certain it will be like this when you book but if you do an early lunch time adr I think you should be fine for a 1-2pm fop fp
If for whatever reason you don’t get it, then just cancel the adr

When I did our FP’s, got FOP a couple of days, all at times I wanted... hopefully you’ll be fine
