surprise for dh 30th

i want to book a 3 night trip to vegas for my dh 30th birthday. its not unitl 2011 but i like to be prepared!
is a package the best thing to go for or should i try it diy. also is the grand canyon helicopter trip worth it? any ideas of the best hotel? i want something that will wow him

Have you read the Las Vegas sticky at the top of the forum - that may help?

What kinds of things would be important - great nightlife, pool area, eateries, rooms etc? What month are you looking at?

it will be in february. would like some good food places around us. a pool would be nice. i was looking at the wynn and bellagio for rooms, think as its a one off i would like to book somewhere with the wow factor. i will check out the sticky, thanks

Hi there!

I am just in the process of doing something similar!

It's my DH 40th next year and I have booked a suprise trip which he will know nothing about until about 2 weeks before we go!

We are doing 5 nights at the MGM Grand, and I am hoping to have most of the trips planned and pre-booked as much as I can!

The sticky is great, I got so much info from there, but I also have a little planning book and anytime I read or see an idea I will jot it down, anything from recommended places to eat to transport etc etc

I have booked a package, which is the dearest option I am sure, but suits me fine as I have to magic the money away to pay for it!

Have loads of fun planning! I have had the idea of doing this for years so it's great that it's actually all booked now and the planning is for real!
