Columbus Day weekend shopping

Hi shopping gurus!

We will be there over Columbus Day weekend in 2020.

For the Saturday and Monday, we have planned events that are likely to be less crowded e.g. national parks, Discovery Cove.

I was wondering about designating the Sunday as a shopping day (3 teenage girls are coming!), but before I do that, has anyone got any experience as to mall/outlet corwds on this weekend?

Not been on Columbus Weekend for a few years but was there over that period 2 or 3 times and it was pretty busy right through the whole Weekend. Will the sales not start Friday? We tended not so much to focus on which day we went but what time of day so either went early to park up, have a coffee then a quick in and out guerilla attack on our preferred shops then back later in the weekend in the evening for a more leisurely look where it was both a little cooler and a little quieter. The positive is that there were always bargains to be had. We usually did Premium Vineland.

Thanks for the replies so far. I was just suggesting shopping as a sort of rest day option (none of us shop like crazy), we will likely go to Ginnie Springs on the Saturday (less popular) and to Discovery Cove Monday (limited entry) to minimise the effects.

Maybe we should just pack off the teens to the mall and veg out by the pool?

Good idea if not a shopper yourself. Saves on the parking nightmares at Outlets that are increasingly being commented on so drop them off then come back for them. We are there over Veterans Day holiday so we'll be planning carefully as well.

Columbus weekend was great for sales! It’s been a couple of years since I was there over Columbus Day but don’t remember it being horrendous for queues.

Do you mean queues in the shops/outlets?
