Anyone tried Wholefoods nr universal for their food shop?
Hello all! I read on a vegan group that Wholefoods does some really good options for vegan snacks and intend to walk there on our first day for cereal bars/crisps/general snacks in case we get peckish! Just wondering if anyone has been and can let me know what it's like?

I’ve been to Whole Foods in New York and LA. It’s very expensive, the nickname is Whole Paycheck but it has a great selection of health foods, fruits and a nice salad bar/deli.

We've been to the Orlando one for gluten free food and it does have a good selection of vegan foods too but tends to be on the pricey side. They do have a website (if you can get into US one) which might give you an idea of prices but I would suggest taking some non-perishables snacks etc with you but remember to declare them on arrival.

Whole Foods is my supermarket of choice when I am at home. I do not find it outrageously expensive so long as you "shop the outside" and avoid processed foods. While the4y have a decent selection of organic snacks, they (like all American packaged foods) will be more expensive,
The one thing I find good and reasonable, it their own brand popcorn. I also like Harvest Snaps and they are the same price, if not lower, than other supermarkets. |

We’ve shopped in the London stores of Whole Foods for many years now on a regular basis & like it.
We’ve also shopped in many of their US stores: Orlando, Clearwater, Naples, Sarasota, NYC, San Francisco etc. They do many vegan ranges for all sorts of foods. I think their prices have dropped a little since Amazon bought them. |

we tend to use walmart/publix for the main shopping, and then whole foods for the odd posh treat

Their stuff over here is mix of reasonable but also ridiculous when it comes to price. But always found the quality to be good. Now closed up here though after loss of the Glasgow store at Giffnock.

If you are looking for good quality and selection of vegan and "healthier" food, Wholefoods is perfect.
