First Timer 10 Day Plan

Myself and my partner will be going to WDW for the first time in May this year. My partner likes thrill rides and is clueless about all things Disney (the horror!) so has never been to WDW but has been to Universal twice before. It will be my first time to Florida and WDW

Any tips on our provisional itinerary would be appreciated (and ideas on how to get my other half loving Disney as much as I do!) We're staying off site on International Drive in a Rosen Inn.

Day 1 - Arrive, possibly hop across to MK to see Wishes for it's penultimate show.
Day 2 - Universal Studios
Day 3 - AK for Kilimanjaro Safari then park hop to DHS. ADR at Sci Fi Diner in the evening and watch Fantasmic.
Day 4 - Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Springs with Cirque Du Soleil at 9pm
Day 5 - Universal Islands of Adventure
Day 6 - MK with ADR for lunch at Be Our Guest and Happily Ever After in the evening.
Day 7 - Chill Day
Day 8 - Breakfast ADR at Kona Cafe, then Blizzard Beach, then AK around lunchtime and Rivers of Light in evening.
Day 9 - NASA & Everglades trip.
Day 10 - EPCOT and Illuminations.
Day 11 - Universal before our flight home.

Any tips/advice welcome.

Hi there

I would just do HS on day 3
Do BB aft a lie in on day 7 , followed by 1/2 day at Epcot - you will need the extra time there
Meaning on day 8, do your Kona, then AK the rest of the day
( think you have too much park hopping in your plan )

Unless I'm really mistaken , NASA and Everglades are not near each other . Unless you are after just an airboat ride , not actually the Everglades ?

If you don't do wishes on day 1, I would definitely make sure you can do on day 2

You didn't mention who you were flying with, but if you're flying Virginia it might be worth conidering doing something Disney related on your last day so you can use the Disney springs check in.

Thanks for the advice buryboy. Will deffo look into those options. Other half loves shows, so thinking a definite full day at DHS will be a hit with him. Thanks for the advice on cutting down the park hopping too.

We are planning on taking Uber to the parks with staying on International Drive. Is this the best way?

Yes, our NASA trip is a pre booked trip, the everglades part is just a 30min airboat ride - hoping to spot a gator!

If you're not hiring a car uber is a good shout. We used them lots and they were great! They might surge the prices (meaning put them up) though if you leave just after the fireworks, as lots of people will be
Getting them at that time!
