Children's Smoothies
I was sure whether I should put this in the food and reservations section so apologies if this is in the wrong place.
We are taking out daughter for the first time who is approaching 2 and want to make sure she won't get cranky through hunger whilst in the parks and are planning on food to buy when there for her and what we can take with us. She loves the pouches of fruit smoothies (Ella's kitchen etc) but I'm a little bit concerned that this might get knocked back by customs. Does anyone know if these are allowable? |

You will probably by OK with enough to use on the flight. Boxes of them probably not. They sell similar things in Publix and Walmart, and in the baby care centers in the parks.

We took loads when our DD was 21 months. We did declare them on the customs form and it was fine, HOWEVER, you cannot take any that contain meat. Veggie/fruit only.
The import of any meat products is completely prohibited. Just to offer some reassurance - Walmart, Publix etc all sell "squeezies" and actually, our DD preferred some of the American ones - I suppose it was different tastes. Lots of very interesting options and some great finger foods in resealable tubs which were made from puffed cereal shapes etc - so weigh virtually nothing. We brought loads back with us which kept her happy for months! They are great packing to protect a car seat ;-)

Thanks both. I might stick to Walmart as I don't want to run the risk of a customs queue for declaring things I can buy over there.

You have to queue for customs regardless. Worse that can happen is that your cases are x-rayed. We've have ours x-rayed every time and it only takes a couple of minute.

They sell them in wallmart now or have them shipped to your resort by garden grocer. Gogo Apple squeeze are now offered by many counter service places as a child dessert option now too.

IIRC when the little one was over there the problem is they prefer a load of the US toddler food and you end up bringing a load back. Gerber Puffs.. ended up with loads of them having to be brought back as the little one loved them !
