Mobile Villa - Large Group

Hi all

Im planning a family trip (including wedding) of 20-25 people in May 2019 and hardly any of the group have actually flown long haul, let alone been to Orlando before! So I'm wedding and holiday planner - extra stressful!

I'm weighing up accommodation options. As its a family group we are not sure whether to get one large villa or a few villas on the same community.

I cant book the actual date of the wedding until 16 months out (January 2018). When should I start looking to book villa(s)?

Anyone have any experience of a large group sharing a villa? Do you have any comments about whether one villa or a few villas would be better based on past good/bad experiences?

Can anyone recommend any large villas?

Or would you let a travel agent handle it?

I have booked Dibb villas in the past so I will be looking at putting a post on the villa request section.

Thanks
Claire

Personally, for everyone's sanity, I would book several villas rather than try to fit your size of party into one villa. No matter how well you all get on it could be quite stressful, especially if you have a wedding going on at the same time. Good luck with your planning, sounds like you may need it!

I agree. Think I'd book 3 or 4 villas on the same community rather than 1 big villa. I wouldn't let a travel agent deal with it though, and would ask villa owners for recommendations for their community - they've probably got contacts there.

I have seen a beautiful villa on a villa website. It had 13 bedrooms, it was absolutely beautiful, even had a cinema and a massive pool. It was so impressive. I would go for something like that, so you can all celebrate together.

1 Villa for 25 would be my idea of total bedlam, I definitely wouldn't want to do it no matter how well you all get along, you might end up not getting on so well by the time you get home .

My party is 19 of us in a 10 bed villa at Encore at Reunion.
Me and hubby / His sister's family of 5 / His brother's family of 3 / His brother-in-law and daughter / My best friend's family of 4 / His best friend's family of 3

We've been on hols with every one of them and some of them have been with others.
There's 2 lounges and each bedroom has it's own telly. We're calling it the big brother house

Will it work? Who knows? We've not quite sorted out the car situation yet. Since there's technically 5 or so families, we're not sure that 5 cars will fit on the drive.

We've got the bog standard one. There's a fab 360 degree walk through on this one jeevesfloridarentals...395&col=2&row2

There are some pretty fantastic looking ones if you've got the cash. I love this one vr360homes/north-amer...ort/p1332.html

It's not just about bedroom/en suite bathroom space it's about the villa generally.

What about the living seating room area/pool area beds etc seating for that many people.

I'd want at least two lounges and a pool big enough for all. Minimum .However with wedding preparations too and the fact the groups "untested" e.g. As a large group have never all holidayed together (just because you get on with all of them doesn't mean you won't get some personality clashes between some them) I'd probably book several villas .

Thanks all for your comments.

Justacey, love that villa. I love that it has two tables so the group can eat together.

I can definitely see the pros and cons for one, and then two villas. What I was kinda thinking was that it wont be as manic as expected as many will be in the parks everyday together, up and out early and back late.

I'll check out those communities with large villas. Weigh up the cost.

When do you guys with villas reckon I should be looking at booking?

What about two villas side by side? Lots of communities do this now. You all would have some space, but also could still have evening BBQs / meals etc together. Just a thought.
