changed resort to POFQ due to construction work

I am really hoping you are going to all tell me I have done the right thing here but I have just changed our hotel from Caribbean beach to port Orleans French quarter. I booked CBR last april and have just been told there will be renovations taking place during our stay in may. Despite Disney assuring me that disruption will be minimal it sounded pretty major to me. (food court, pool bar some pools and walkways are shut).
So I made a quick decision whilst on the phone and changed us to POFQ (at a cost!). A rash decision maybe but this is our first and possibly last trip across the pond and I want it to be perfect!
Tell me I have done the right thing and POFQ is amazing!

I'm staying at POFQ in May and it looks brilliant. Every report I've seen says it is great. Maybe see you there!

I stayed at Caribbean Beach last trip and whilst it was lovely, I wouldn't stay there again. It was too spread out and the rooms were ready for the work that they're doing now. I think you made the right choice, we're staying there this April

We stayed at POFQ in April and loved it. Would be the only moderate we would go back to.

Great size, no long walks to room, one bus stop & boat to Disney springs.

Did you book with Disney direct? There is a huge thread ATM about people not happy about the works at cbr, the majority are switching resorts at no extra cost - how much did you pay? I would be calling back and asking for the additional you have paid to be refunded - people have done this as well.

I would call and ask for any fees you have paid for the change to be refunded.

You have done the right thing in moving, we have done the same. Like you I paid to move before they starting moving people at no charge. If you phone up they will credit you back the extra.

PORR and POFQ is in my opinion the best moderate on the resort.

Don't pay to move! You booked a moderate resort with the required facilities and they can't provide that. Hundreds of people have claimed back £50 per night if they chose to stay put at CBR or were moved for free. Call back and get what you paid refunded. If you get through and get nowhere with the first CM, ask for Guest Care.
