We've always stayed in a villa, we like the space it gives us and as much as we love the parks it's also nice to walk away when we want too and give us some quiet time👍🏻

We love villas. If you don't mind driving and you want lots of space and freedom I'd go with villa

You didn't specify if the hotel would be on or off site. This would make the difference as it means no hire car you can have a cocktail no need to drive for dinner.

Comparing off site hotel to villa for me villa wins hands down.

Onsite v villa it gets more complicated

Only upside to Hotels is you can review them on TA and know what you're getting. Private villa hire is more hit and miss. We've done it 3 times now and twice it was great and once was awful.

Villa for sure ...with 2 boys that age , they will have their bedrooms (with prob tv if they need to escape) own pool and most villas have excellent games rooms
So they can be happily involved not too far away and you can chill
+ Own fridge means you can store all the snacks nand drink you want..take breakfast when and with what you want...eat out or bring take way in
Total space to relax away form the busy bubble, and do your own thing

We are two adults and like a villa for space, private pool and home from home facilities. We also like an on site hotel for total immersion in the Disney bubble and the convenience of being to able to go back to the hotel for a break, and then go back out again. Nothing to say we couldn't do the same with a villa, but once we sit down in the villa we tend not to get back up again! We don't do split stays, and finances and what we fancy doing when booking will guide us.

It has to be a villa for us. Much more room, our own pool, being able to make your own food rather than eating out all the time.

I work away from home quite a lot so a hotel for me would feel like being at work!

Value for money villas win hands-down. Premier Inn where I stay in London is usually about £150/night - our villas are about 15-20 times larger than a hotel room, yet most months of the year cost quite a bit less!

Such a personal choice. Know many that like to do both and split their stay a week on site and a week in a villa. We are bound to be biased but since our kids were very small we have loved the space of a villa. We couldn't have honestly survived 2 weeks with all 4 of us in one room! The cost of a villa is certainly worth a view if you were going to pay for 2 hotel rooms. Each to their own though.
