I HATE mine!

Have always had gas and DH was swayed by the salesman during new kitchen planning.

Id go back to gas and get a big 5 ring gas hob and flat plate in a heartbeat!

Do you know I really dont know

Theres nothing particularly wrong with it - it does exactly what it says on the tin.

In many ways its perfect - an even temperature and from boiling to simmer in fractions of a second. It fits flush with the countertop and is soo easy to clean

BUT

I just dont like it. We've had it for 9 years and i still miss the way the gas works. sometimes i feel like dropping a pan on it

You cant have all 4 quarters on at max power at once - you can hear it vibrating and then at least 2 of them will stop working, it doesnt really even like 2 on full power together, you cant have a large pan in the middle with a couple of smaller ones on the outside.

I guess they might be better now but if we had a refurb it would be a huge gas hob and flat plate (for pancakes etc) instead.

Not much help am i!

Katie

We got an induction hob when we had the kitchen redone, having always had gas. It's fine for heating things up, but I don't find it as controlllable as gas when doing things like a big pan of pasta. It's either boiling over or if I turn it down hardly simmering. If I have all the four hobs on at once they keep going off and on. I had an Bosch engineer out but he said there was nothing wrong. Maybe it's just me.

I have the Hotpoint HUI62TK , I ve had it for 3 months and I love it! It has no buttons or knobs at all its all touch sensitive, so it is even more of a breeze to clean. I d never have anything else now
Edit to add, there is absolutely no problem with frying!

I had an induction hob, had all new pots but didn't like it either. Mine also vibrated and I couldn't put more than 2 pans on at once it just went into a meltdown. I had a ceramic hob before that and have now gone back to a ceramic hob.

it was to show that it heats whats inside the pan rather than the pan itself and to make it easier to clean as u can just throw away the paper ... and tbh i didnt cook on it i was just mentioning what the chef thought about it
